"L'invenzione dei Fori Imperiali. Demolizioni e scavi: 1924-1940 (The invention of the Imperial Fora. Demolition and excavations: 1924-1940)"
The 140 works on show (among which photos, paintings, frescoes and ancient sculptures) document the demolition and excavation work in the massive area that includes the Forum of Augustus, Trajan's Forum and Markets, the Forum of Ceasar and the Forum of Nerva.
The artists behind these figurative creations are Michele Cascella, Maria Barosso, Lucia Hoffmann, Giulio Farnese and Pio Bottoni.
Particularly interesting are the 30 finds from the Roman era and the five pictorial and sculptural fragments dating from the 16th and 17th centuries that bear witness to the digs that have taken place.
